We woke up early Tuesday morning, got on a Belizean style truck/wagon and began our journey to Guatemala. It was only a 15-minute drive to the border and we had to wait there for almost 2 hours. When we finally crossed the border into Guatemala, the group split up and piled into 2 vans. It was another hour and a half to our destination, Tikal. Tikal is one of the largest archaeological sites filled with Mayan ruins. I climbed the ruins and the tallest one I climbed was about 200 feet tall. I learned a lot about the Mayans, but I will only tell you one interesting fact: the only emperor that was born outside of the main chamber was Lord Chocolate. He was buried in a big temple across from the temple his wife was buried in. It was a long tiring day in Guatemala, but it sure was one of the best days.
